Idols SA’s upcoming episode will see the top 16 boys performing live for the first time, with the Sunday night episode scheduled to start 30 minutes earlier than the previous ones.
Idols SA’s upcoming episode, which airs on Sunday, 20 September 2020, will see the top 16 boys taking to the stage for the first time. The show has also announced an earlier timeslot of 17:00, as opposed to 17:30. The episodes will still be broadcast for 90 minutes, giving the contestants ample time to perform their songs and receive feedback from the judges.
Aside from the timeslot change, Idols SA will have a drastically different set, as, for the first time in 16 seasons, there will be no live audience. The show will still feature integral personnel, such as host, ProVerb, the band and the judges, leaving the contestants to perform only for the camera.
Nomsa Philiso, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, stated, “While we have had to take the difficult decision not to have audiences at the live shows, due to the current environment and in trying to keep our fans and contestants safe, we are excited that our valued viewers can still enjoy this exciting production with us, from a distance, with lots to look forward to as we get closer and closer to the finale.”
