Idols SA changes airing time as live shows commence

Idols SA has confirmed that the upcoming episode of the show is set to have a different start time, in light of the start of the live performances.

Mzansi Magic’s Idols South Africa (SA) took to Twitter on Thursday, 26 August 2021, to confirm the voting details for the top 16 of season 17. The post also served to confirm that the show will start 30 minutes earlier than it has since the new season began. This is as the upcoming episode of the show is set to mark the start of the live performances.

The first live episode will see eight of the top 16 selected for this season competing to be the winner. In a post shared on Wednesday, 25 August 2021, the show revealed that the first eight hopefuls set to take the stage will be Andiswa, Berry, Bulelani, Daylin Sass, Nqobie, Siya Sizizi, Sinovuyo and Tesmin-Robyn.

Voting lines will open on Sunday, 29 August 2021, following the performances by the first half of the top 16. Idols SA now airs at 17:00 on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
