Idols SA has confirmed that the voting lines are closed for the top six, as it now counts down to the top five reveal in the upcoming episode.
Mzansi Magic’s Idols South Africa (SA) took to Twitter on Tuesday, 19 October 2021, to confirm that the voting lines for the top six contestants are officially closed. Now, the show is gearing up to reveal the official top five of the competition. The top five are in a good position to earn a record label deal, even if they do not win the season. This was seen through the top five from the previous season, and how they all walked away with a recording deal with Kalawa Jazzmee.
The reason for this could have been that the season marked the first partnership between the show and Kalawa Jazzmee. This is as in previous years, the winners signed recording deals with Gallo Records. Therefore, in an effort to promote the new partnership, taking on all five may have been for publicity. However, considering that not a single one of the top five from the previous season have released an album yet, chances of another top five signing is unlikely.
Viewers will find out who, between Daylin, Kevin, Berry, Karabo, S’22kile and Nqobie, missed the chance to make the cut on Sunday, 24 October 2021, on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161, at 17:00.
