Idols SA: Judges have viewers in hysterics at the Cape Town leg of the auditions

Sunday night’s episode of Idols SA saw fans of the show applauding the judges for their comedic reactions at the auditions, keeping the show entertaining throughout.

The latest episode of Mzansi Magic’s Idols SA, which aired on Sunday, 21 July 2019, saw resident judges Unathi Nkayi, Somizi Mhlongo and Randall Abrahams being joined by the iconic DJ Fresh, who added to the fun at the Cape Town auditions. The episode contained a mixed compilation of talent, with a commendable number of individuals being given a golden ticket to the next round of the competition. Viewers, however, were largely entertained by the generous number of wooden mic contestants, which had the judges battling to find words to describe their feelings.

One of the contestants, Esethu, battled to keep her nerves under control, as she delivered her rendition of Adele’s Someone Like You. Upon witnessing DJ Fresh trying to restrain from laughter and Somizi staring blankly, she attempted to rush off from the set. However, she bumped into the backdrop and fell, causing the judges to rush to her aid. Fans took to social media to share memes of the incident, with many commenting on the judge’s priceless reactions.

Fans also praised guest judge, DJ Fresh, for his authentic and honest feedback whilst remaining compassionate to the contestants. Snenhlanhla Ngobese shared a tweet stating, “My love for DJ Fresh is unmeasurable. You don’t have to wonder if the man has a giant heart or not, you can just see it.”

Idols SA airs Sundays at 17:30 on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
