Idols SA: The Top 17 take to the stage for the first round of the live performances

Sunday night’s episode of the reality singing competition, Idols SA, sees the contestants taking to the stage for the first round of live performances to performe songs from specific genres.

The upcoming episode of Mzansi Magic’s Idols SA, which airs on Sunday, 25 August 2019, sees the Top 17 performing a song within a particular genre, given to them by the Idols team. This will allow them to showcase their individual talents and stage presence for the first time in front of a live audience and the judges, comprising Unathi, Somizi and Randall. Last Sunday, the Top 17 had collectively performed Rag’n’Bone’s Human in a cinematic music video which showed each contestant in a basement location, as they sang individual lines before joining in on the chorus.

Viewers have already shared their excitement for the upcoming episode on social media, with many stating who their favourites are thus far. Taylor Joharie shared a commented which stated, “Micayla all the way! So far in the small stages she performed like a seasoned singer. I can’t wait to see how she performs on a bigger stage with an audience she does not know.”

The contestants competing in the live round of the competition are; Andy Keys, Nolo, Luyolo, Mmangaliso, Sizwe Hlatshwayo, Craig Jordaan, Zia, Louise, Viggy, Virginia, Innocentia, Nqobile, Xola, Treasure, Micayla Lee and Dinky.
