Idols SA’s past contestants share how their lives have changed

Idols SA’s breakout stars, Rethabile Khumalo, Loyiso and Nosipho, have shared how the singing competition has allowed them to achieve their goals and enter the music industry.

Idols SA shared YouTube videos today, 7 October 2020, which showed some of its past contestants returning to the stage to perform their hit songs. Rethabile Khumalo entered the competition in 2013, and has gone on to feature on DJ Zinhle’s chart-topping song, Umlilo, in 2019. Her next single saw her collaborating with Jersualema hitmaker, Master KG, on Ntyilo Ntyilo. She explained that she is eternally grateful to Idols SA, as it was the reason behind DJ Zinhle discovering her and allowing her to be on the song.

2018 contestant, Nosipho, also shared her gratitude towards the show, and explained that it has allowed her to go on and release two popular singles, Thembalami and Don’t Kill My Vibe. Singer-songwriter, Langa Mavuso, collaborated with 2015 contestant, Loyiso, on Intlziyo, after discovering his soulful sound on the show.
