Impilo: The Scam: Mnqobi and Tebza's friendship is put through the ultimate test

Monday night’s episode of the South African drama series, Impilo: The Scam, saw Naledi being kidnapped by MaCable, in an attempt to threaten Bra K.

The latest episode of Mzansi Magic’s Impilo: The Scam, which aired on Monday, 26 August 2019, saw Bra K and Mnqobi trying to come up with a plan to protect themselves and Naledi from MaCable. They discussed that MaCable wanted half of Impilo and decided to give it to him as long as he stayed away from Naledi. Despite agreeing to this condition, MaCable and his gang kidnapped Naledi outside of her home, whilst her mother sat unfazed. When confronted, MaCable denied his involvement with the kidnapping, leaving Bra K and Mnqobi to get to the bottom of the situation by themselves.

Viewers shared their concerns for Naledi on social media, with many stating that her mother’s reaction was shocking. Joy Zelda shared a tweet which stated, “Naledi’s mother is sitting and drinking beer, she doesn’t care that her daughter was kidnapped by MaCable. How can she say that she is fine?”. Another viewer also commented with, “How did we even get here? Naledi did not deserve this.”

Impilo: The Scam is set in Alexandra township and follows a community which is distraught after a pyramid scheme, developed by a select group of people, scammed them of their hard-earned money. The storyline centres around Mnqobi, who is caught up in the financial crime engineered by his greedy and opportunistic father.

Impilo: The Scam airs on Mondays at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
