The singer will be performing for the very first time in South Africa, delivering performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Event promoters, Showtime Management, have on Thursday, 10 January 2019, announced that English singer/song-writer, James Morrison, will be performing for a third night in Johannesburg.
“The James Morrison SA concerts are just two weeks away and local promoter, Showtime Management, is pleased to announce an extra concert on Thursday, 24 January 2019, at Montecasino’s Teatro,” the company said in a press release.
The ‘You Give Me Something’ singer was originally supposed to perform in the Johannesburg venue for two nights only on Tuesday, 22 January 2019, and Wednesday, 23 January 2019. Each of the three shows will start at 8pm. The star will then head to the Mother City to perform at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens on Saturday, 26 January 2019 at 7pm.
Morrison will be joined on tour by local musical group, Stone Jets. The duo, which is made up of bassist and vocalist Given Nkanyane and guitarist Manfred Klose, has two EPs under their belts and critics described their 2016 song ‘Hurricane’ as a “lively, foot-tapping summer single”. Morrison said he was excited to perform with the pair.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the Stone Jets and to touring with these local lads,” the singer said.
“I am super excited to be playing my first gigs in a while in South Africa. I can’t wait to be on stage in Johannesburg and Cape Town, not long to go now!”
