Legendary pop icon Janet Jackson will be headlining the Montreux Jazz Festival on Sunday, 30 June 2019, marking her first performance at the festival.
In a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, 11 June 2019, the singing sensation announced her appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival, which takes place at the Auditorium Stravinski in Switzerland on Sunday, 30 June 2019. The singer shared a promotional video for the event, which showcased a string of short clips taken from her most famous music videos. The video was captioned, “June 30! I know it’s been a long time Europe, but I’m coming.”
Her performance was also noted on the Montreux Jazz Festival’s official website, which stated, “As she wraps her critically acclaimed State of the World tour, she arrives at the Festival to further solidify her legend, reminding us once again just how much pop music owes to her!”. Her performance at the Jazz festival marks her first showcase at the prestigious event, and will serve as her only show in Europe this summer.
According to the website, the performance is expected to be a blend of soul, rock, rap and electronics in a truly innovative production. Fans speculate that the songs featured in the promotional video will be included in her setlist. These include That’s The Way Love Goes, Miss You Much, It’s All For You, Together Again, Rhythm Nation, Wait For Now, Feedback, Come Back To Me, Nasty and Let’s Wait Awhile.
