Jason Goliath confirmed as voice of Comedy Central Africa

Jason Goliath has been confirmed as the new voice of Comedy Central Africa following his long working relationship with the channel.

In recent years, we have seen South African personalities becoming the voices and ambassadors of various channels and broadcasting platforms. Take popular media personality Somizi Mhlango, for instance, as he was named the brand ambassador of DStv, and Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha, who has been named the voice of Apple Radio Africa.

Now, Comedy Central Africa has followed suit, having recently confirmed that comedian, television presenter, host, and actor, Jason Goliath is the official new voice of Comedy Central Africa. The announcement and appointment, however, has other implications for Goliath than just being a voiceover artist.

Are Jason and Donovan Goliath related?

Jason and Donovan Goliath are not related but are two of the four owners of the comedy and entertainment agency, Goliath and Goliath, which was founded on their individual success.

The company description reads in part, “MD (managing director) Kate Goliath and comedians, Jason, Donovan and Nicholas Goliath have built one of the most formidable brands in South Africa Comedy and are aiming to raise industry standards and continue to push the bar even higher.”

Paramount Studios, the mother company of Comedy Central Africa, released a statement on Friday, 13 May 2022, announcing that Jason Goliath is the official new voice of Comedy Central Africa.

Goliath’s stint as the new voice of the channel does not come as a surprise, considering how much work he has done with the channel in the past.

One of his recent successful ventures with the channel was the premiere and subsequent success of the Comedy Central Live at the Savanna Virtual Comedy Bar online series.

The show was so successful that it gained the channel the approval of the South African Film and Television industry.

The hard work that Jason Goliath and his Goliath and Goliath team put in has seemingly been successful, as it led to his apparent promotion in the ranks of Comedy Central Africa.

Comedy Central Africa welcomes Jason Goliath

Following the confirmation that Jason Goliath is the new voice of Comedy Central Africa, Vice President, Dillon Khan, welcomed the personality, stating, “We have been able to grow with Jason having worked with him over the years on a number of projects and it was only fitting that, officially, we welcome him to the family. As a channel we are proud to give local comedians the platform to shine.”

Jason Goliath shared similar sentiments remarking on the appointment when he said, “After over a decade of working with Comedy Central, I’m still giddy with delight whenever I see myself on the network! Being the voice of one of my all-time favourite brands is something I’ve always wanted to do.”

What does the appointment as the voice of Comedy Central Africa entail?

Besides being the voiceover artist that will be heard in any promotional content, public service announcements, and new show reveals, Jason Goliath will also be the host of the new segment, 10entertainment, which is premised, “This new segment will bring to viewers, only the best of the most hilarious international sitcoms and shows.”
