Joyous Celebration announces dates for Joyous Celebration 23 album tour

Internationally celebrated South African ensemble Joyous Celebration has announced the tour dates to promote their upcoming album Joyous Celebration 23, Live at the CTICC Cape Town.

The tour will only kick off after the release of their upcoming twenty-third album, Joyous Celebration 23, Live at the CTICC Cape Town, which is set for a release date of Friday, 5 April 2019. The album was created under the musical direction of Mnqobi Nxumalo and Simphiwe Ngcobo, and similar in style with albums the choir has released before, Joyous Celebration 23 is a contemporary take on popular, traditional and new gospel hymns.

The double-disc album contains over twenty-two tracks of songs and medleys. Currently, the album already has two singles released, Ngomthola (Akekho) and Thabang Le Nyakalle with Joyous Celebration’s Pastor Given Mabena.

The tour will commence at Carnival City in Boksburg, Johannesburg, with a three-date residency at the venue. They will be performing there from Friday, 19 April to Sunday, 21 April 2019.

Speaking about the upcoming tour in an official press release issued on Monday, 25 March 2019, Pastor Mthunzi Namba commented:

“The Joyous 23 show, like previous shows, has something for everyone. It’s fresh and unique, but still offers the ‘old’ Joyous sound even after we have experimented and included new and innovative elements. To remain relevant for over 20 years in an industry that’s so competitive has been a challenge, but we have managed to keep going because of the support of our fans and by the grace of God.”

The stage for the performance is already cited as a new and fresh design, and is said to have been designed in a manner that will easily facilitate interaction between the choir, the leads and the audience.

Tickets are available for purchase on Computicket.
