Junior De Rocka, who was the guest on SABC 3’s Afternoon Express, discussed the reason why he and Ntando Duma decided to expose their daughter, Sbahle, to social media.
Durban-based producer and DJ, Junior De Rocka, is the proud father to daughter, Sbahle Mzizi, who is one of the most followed local celebrity children on social media. Junior De Rocka shares the two-year-old with actress and television host, Nthando Duma. During his latest interview on SABC 3’s popular lifestyle talk show, Afternoon Express, on Tuesday, 3 September 2019, Junior De Rocka discussed why they decided to expose their daughter to social media at such a young age.
In response to the host, Palesa Tembe’s question, Junior De Rocka confessed, “It was a decision that we made even before she was born. The page was already around before she was born and everything… We did not want to make her a celebrity baby, it just happened that way.”
Sbahle currently has over 234 000 followers on her Instagram page, which is almost as much as her father’s, who currently sits at just over 264 000 followers. In his extended answer he explains how they have protected her, stating, “There [have] been so many places that she has been invited to, and we don’t want to support that. Because right now we [the parents] might think this is the route we want her to take, but she might change her mind and say no!”
The young parents have had a publicly tumultuous relationship. However, they have recently put on a united front as parents, dedicating their energy to raising their daughter as co-parents.
