Kalawa Jazmee has teased the imminent release of Speedy’s Khumbula music video, featuring Nhlanhla Nciza, with a behind-the-scenes video.

Kalawa Jazmee took to Twitter on Tuesday, 3 August 2021, to tease the imminent release of the Khumbula music video. The lead single is taken off Speedy’s upcoming album, The Gift, and features Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Nciza. The single was released on Friday, 14 May 2021.

According to a supporting statement on the day of the single’s release, “Khumbula deals with missing home, the yearning that comes with it, and longing for a return to one’s roots. The track features Nhlanhla, a legend in her own right, and one half of the multi-award-winning kwaito and Afropop duo, Mafikizolo, who adds her husky tone to the track, and the two produce an earnest and deeply felt melodic arrangement.”

The post shared is a behind-the-scenes visual detailing the premise of the music video. It confirmed that the music video will draw its narrative from the lyrical content of the song. Moreover, the video will feature cameos from Theo Kgosinkwe, who also featured in the promotional post.
