Katchie Nzama believes Come Again will showcase beauty of local tourism

Published on

Katchie Nzama’s travel show, Come Again, premieres tonight on SABC 1, and will see her showing South Africans how quality travel can be achieved locally and on a budget.

Katchie Nzama, also known as The Solo Wanderer, caught the travel bug at a young age, due to the fact that she grew up in a family that loved adventure and worked in the tourism industry. Understanding that travelling comes at a cost, Katchie began exploring local destinations as a way of satisfying her desires on a budget.

In an interview with JustNje on Wednesday, 7 October 2020, the presenter discussed her excitement for the premiere of Come Again, which airs tonight on SABC 1. She shared that the show aims to provide information on local destinations which is not readily available online, causing for many of the places she will visit to be relatively unknown. Katchie believes that in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, South Africans have become more interested in travelling locally, and that with the continued interest, the local tourism industry can be rebuilt.

She stated, “Since Level 1, I have travelled to these small towns and, trust me, I have never seen young, Black people travelling as they are doing right now. Travel has absolutely changed in South Africa, we are interested in travelling and we are travelling. We will revive this industry by ourselves.”
