Khabonina Qubeka reflected on having made her debut on Generations: The Legacy as Oby Abudu, who is set to embark on a romantic relationship with Kumkani Phakade.
SABC 1’s Generation: The Legacy took to Twitter on Thursday, 8 July 2021, to confirm that the episode which aired that night was marking the debut of seasoned actress, Khabonina Qubeka. Her feature as part of the cast of Generations: The Legacy is one which was reported months earlier. However, the nature of her role was kept under wraps. The post introduced her as Oby Phakade.
However, during her dramatic entry into the world of the story, she was introduced as Oby Abudu. Therefore, the posts, along with the story, leaves fans to believe that a romantic angle is set to be the introduction of Qubeka’s character with Kumkani Phakade, played by Vuyo Dabula. Moreover, despite the fact that Qubeka’s character has a name with Nigerian connotations, including the first look she was wearing, the star has still maintained her own accent.
Qubeka took to Instagram on Thursday, 8 July 2021, to indicate that there will be more to her character than what she initially portrays.
