This is the fourth edition of the event which will be hosted as an all-white affair during the Easter holidays.
Rapper, Kwesta, took to social media on Monday, 21 January 2019 to unveiled the names of two musicians who will be performing at the upcoming Umshubhelo Fest.
Musicians, Prince Kaybee and Busiswa, will be performing at the festival that is set to take place on Saturday, 20 April 2019. The pair collaborated on the song ‘Banomoya’ which was named SABC’s Summer Song of the Year for 2018. The song had been nominated alongside hits like ‘Malwedhe’ by King Monada, ‘Deeper’ by Holly Rey and ‘Asiphelelanga’ by Vusi Nova.
The rapper has been giving regular updates, last week, and on Thursday, 17 January 2019, Kwesta told fans that the event would be an all-white affair. The event will take place at the Huntersfield Stadium on Saturday, 20 April 2019. “Good Friday weekend will never be same again,” the rapper said in the post. “It’s an All-White Party at Huntersfield Stadium.”
The festival is the Easter edition, organised by Kwesta’s Raplyf Records. This is the fourth edition of the event which features performances by some of the country’s best musicians. The last Umshubhelo Fest was on Sunday, 16 December 2018, and artists such as A-Reece, Moonchild Sanelly, Heavy K, Kid X, Nasty C, DJ Ganyani and Rouge.
Tickets for the event will be sold in phases and are currently available on Computicket. The first phase of tickets, being sold this month, is the cheapest at a price of R80 and R200 for general and VIP tickets respectively. The star urged fans to get their tickets as soon as possible as early bird tickets and phase one tickets are extremely limited.
