Kwesta releases first album in five years, g.o.d guluva

Kwesta has released his new 15-track album, g.o.d guluva, which comes  five years after the release of his critically acclaimed album, DaKAR II.

Kwesta took to Twitter on Friday, 30 April 2021, to announce the availability of his new album, g.o.d guluva. This marks his first album release in five years, as his last release was the critically acclaimed DaKAR II.

Following his tell-all interview with MacG on Thursday, 29 April 2021, the rapper detailed the reason for the delay in the release. He claimed that it was due to the need to fix his business matters behind the scenes. The new album showcases his musical growth and maturity.

The album cover was created by acclaimed and internationally recognised fine artist, Nelson Makomo. Moreover, Kwesta chose to collaborate with musicians he has a close relationship with. These include Thabsie on Hamba Nawe, Yanga Chief on Thandazani, Zingah on Daai Deng, Makwa on Nthabiseng, and Reason and Kid X on Ma Se Kind. Other notable singles include Phuma Sathane, Nobody, Favorite Song and The Bottom.
