“My new smash single now out on all digital platforms… Be the 1st to get it!!!! #VurVai”

Kwesta has gained much traction and success since his debut album Special Rekwest which was released in September 2010 and spawned hits such as ‘Flash It,’ ‘Stomp’ and ‘Pump It.’ His second and third studio albums DaKAR and DaKAR II were released in 2013 and 2016 respectively, and the singles went on to earn the rapper numerous awards and accolades.

His hit single ‘Ngud’ features Cassper Nyovest and was certified 5 x Platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA). In 2017, he released ‘Ngiyazifela Ngawe’ alongside Thabsie, and the single has reached well over 3 million views on YouTube.

Speaking on his rise and recent success, in an interview with Okay Africa on Friday, 9 February 2018, Kwesta commented:

“It’s great, it’s humbling. I’ve been doing this music thing for ten years. This is my eleventh year now and for all that to happen in my tenth year was pretty monumental for me. But also, it doesn’t take away from everything I had to go through and learn nine years prior cause I’ve always kind of been there but not quite, and on the tenth year people decided to listen.”

The rapper is also gearing up to host his annual 3-Day Spring Break which will take place from Friday, 28 September 2018 until Sunday, 30 September 2018 at the Germiston Lake in Johannesburg, and will feature the likes of AKA, Cassper Nyovest and Distruction Boyz.
