Kwesta has shared his views on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement of the country moving down to Level 3 of the lockdown restrictions at the beginning of the new month.
Kwesta has voiced his opinion on South Africa moving to Level 3 of the lockdown, as announced by the president on Sunday, 24 May 2020. The 2 Skief rapper started his cautionary tweet by quoting President Ramaphosa’s signature salutation, writing, “Fellow South Africans, the towel has been thrown in. If you thought you had made efforts to stay safe, quadruple them!”
He ended his tweet by sharing his fears regarding the easing of the lockdown restrictions, writing, “’Opening the economy’ will come at an irreparable loss of lives. God bless us all.” While Kwesta might be reluctant about the easing of restrictions, some of his fans do not share the same sentiments. Many of the comments suggested that his tweet was coming from a position of privilege.
