He captioned the image with, “If you’re in Milan, come check out an exhibition of Maxhosa Africa, Sindiso Khumalo and Thebe Magugu SS2020 collection at the Camera Moda, as part of the Milan Fashion Week Experience. You have until Monday evening.” Laduma Ngxokolo will be showcased alongside the aforementioned South African designers, who will also be displaying their latest collections.

Prior to his Milan Fashion Week showcase, Laduma’s designer clothing was featured at the New York Fashion week. The reigning Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi and 2017 Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, walked at his fashion show, displaying his clothing for the international audience. He shared a post on Saturday, 7 September 2019, where he commemorated the day, stating, “This day was written in the stars. It’s been standing ovations every year. Even more special to capture this moment with our recent Miss SA and our Miss Universe.”

Maxhosa by Laduma is a South African knitwear brand founded by Laduma Ngxokolo in 2012. The designer clothing was created to explore knitwear design solutions that would be suitable for Xhosa initiates. According to the brand’s website, Laduma’s initial vision was to create a modern Xhosa-inspired knitwear collection, that would be suitable for traditional Xhosa wear, as well as for modern users. The designer’s aim is to celebrate traditional Xhosa aesthetics.
