Lerato Kganyago’s latest vlog on her growing YouTube channel focused on the correct way of applying artificial eyelashes, and featured her cousin, Koketso, and make-up artist, Clara Banx.

Media personality, Lerato Kganyago, shared her latest vlog episode on Wednesday, 16 October 2019. The vlog is a departure from the one she previously released, which focused on dating and addressed all the romantic rumours that surrounded The Bridge co-host. This vlog entry focuses on how to apply artificial eyelashes, while promoting her eyelash range, Flutter by LKG.

The vlog shares three easy-to-follow steps on applying the eyelashes. The use of the three personalities is helpful as each of them differ in their experience of working with make-up. Clara Banx, who is a professional make-up artist, is the most experienced, while Lerato usually has to have make-up on for her job, and often does her own make-up. Koketso, on the other hand, is a student and rarely has a full face of make-up on.

The three steps to follow start with how to remove the reusable lashes from the box. Clara shows viewers how to correctly remove the eyelashes, to avoid damaging the strands. Lerato also highlights how her eyelash range has a left and right eye-lash, emphasising on the importance of knowing which eyelash belongs on which side.

The second step involves fitting the eyelashes. Clara first demonstrates how to correctly cut the eyelashes if they are too long. She then explains how the fit informs the overall look, noting that the longer the fit of the eyelash, the more dramatic it looks. However, the shorter the fit of the lash, the more flirtatious it is.

The last step details how to glue the eyelashes on. The group first discusses the differences in the glues used for the eyelashes and wigs, and the importance of using the correct one to apply the eyelashes. Lastly, they advise to wait for the glue to be tacky, before applying the eyelash, as this makes it stick on better and stay on longer.
