Pop star Ashley Tisdale released her new album Symptoms today, 3 May 2019.
The nine-track album includes her chart-topping singles Love Me And Let Me Go and Voices In My Head. The album serves as an attempt to empower her listeners to conquer their fears and anxieties, whilst remaining true to themselves throughout. In an interview with Pop Sugar on Tuesday, 30 April 2019, Tisdale explained the messaging in her album, stating, “I hope you feel empowered to show your vulnerable side, too. All of these so-called ‘flaws’ that we have make us who we are. And that’s the most beautiful thing of all.”
Tisdale went on to explain that she used the album as a form of therapy, which can be clearly heard in her first single Voices In My Head. The song plays on the insecurities felt by someone who deals with self-doubt and criticism. The theme of mental health empowerment remains consistent throughout.
The album is available for purchase on iTunes.
