Bastille album Doom Days

Alternate-pop four-piece band Bastille released their highly anticipated album, Doom Days, today, 14 June 2019.

The 11-track album includes the band’s previously released singles, the title song Doom Days, Those Nights and Joy. According to an interview with Apple Music, lead singer Dan Smith described the full-length project as a concept album. He stated, “We’re telling the course of a night out during the apocalypse.  When you try and do something that’s different and creative… it’s so nice to double down and care about those songs but really think about a record and a narrative.”

The album joins together to form one story, documenting different stages of a single night. The track list begins with the song Quarter Past Midnight, which opens the album and the storytelling process. Millions is found mid-way, and talks about being in a state of ecstasy. The album concludes with Joy, which is a reflection of the project as a whole.

The album is available for purchase on Apple Music.
