Listen to Drahla’s album, Useless Coordinates

Published on

London-based trio Drahla released their debut album Useless Coordinates on Friday, 3 May 2019.

Useless Coordinates is a ten-track album that sees the band explore themes of global warming, gender fluidity and the distribution of wealth, while maintaining their melancholic punk sound.

The album begins with the ominous Gilded Cloud. This song is centered on a distorted, guitar-driven melody alongside a hushed, sensual vocal performance.

Pyramid Estate, an album highlight, sees the band touch on the topic of symbolism. The song is built on lead singer Brown’s delicate, yet confident vocals as a jarring, jazzy instrumental beat crashes in the background. Another album highlight is React/Revolt that throws the listener off with its melody of screeching chords and smooth saxophone.

The album as a whole is a distorted and gloomy piece of post-punk.

The album is available for purchase on iTunes.
