R&B singer-songwriter Kiana Ledé released her new EP, Myself, on Friday, 7 June 2019.
The six-track EP includes two features from Offset on Bouncin and Jenifer Lewis on Heavy. The songs on the EP touch on a variety of emotional themes such as her struggles with anxiety in Heavy, and her wanting to be with someone she shouldn’t be with in Can I. Speaking She has also reportedly revealed that her two favourite songs from the EP are Heavy and Bouncin, as they are polar opposites of each other – showing the spectrum of her personality.
Ledé’s silky vocals are displayed throughout the EP with her soulful tone and her catchy lyrics. Speaking to Billboard Magazine in an article published on Friday, 7 June 2019, the singer detailed the inspiration behind every song on the EP, she stated, “My real passion is people, so if I can do that using my own situation and be an example for people who are also going through something similar, that’s the most important thing.”
The EP is available for purchase on Apple Music.
