Mustelide’s EP, Ginseng Woman

Belurus-born singer Mustelide released her latest EP titled Ginseng Woman on Tuesday, 12 March 2019.

After a three-year break, Mustelide has graced her fans with a six-track EP. The EP was composed using the sounds of Found Sound Nation’s Broken Orchestra Instruments. In an article published by Onebeat on Thursday, 14 March 2019, the artist commented on the EP’s content, stating that it was “devoted to the idea of women’s sacred abilities, alongside an anti-consumerist ideology.”

The title-track opens with a groovy beat alongside other-worldly vocals. The album flows effortlessly from one song to the next with tracks like the Telo Ogon, Okno and Zver.

The album is rounded off with Velvet In Heart and Thum Nyatiti featuring Kenyan Rapasa Otieno. Thum Nyatiti is a tropical piece that features percussive elements complimented by Rapasa’s culturally-influenced performance. Velvet In Heart stays true to the album’s essence with Mustelide’s delicate vocals on full display.

The EP is available for purchase on iTunes.
