Listen to pH Raw X’s new single, Ibeballinho, featuring Sho Madjozi

South African hip-hop artist, pH Raw X, teamed up with Xitsonga music sensation, Sho Madjozi, for the release of Ibeballinho on Friday, 19 July 2019.

For his new single, Ibeballinho, celebrated hip-hop producer and artist, pH Raw X enlisted the help of long-time collaborator, Sho Madjozi. pH Raw X featured on the rapper’s debut album, Limpopo Champion’s League, which was released on Friday, 14 December 2018. He produced and rapped on the eleventh track on the album, Going Down.

The release of Ibeballinho marks the duo’s second collaborative single. Moreover, Ibeballinho marks pH Raw X’s first single release for 2019.

The song is a purely upbeat and meant-for-the-club trap song, which starts with a brief introduction before full the production value of the song kicks in. Ibeballinho is a boastful song, which features both artists bragging about their musical abilities and their achievements. This is especially true for Sho Madjozi’s verse which tackles people questioning whether the hip-hop artist is a rapper or a musician that just happens to rap.

The song continues to pay homage to both artists’ Limpopo roots, with both rappers using English and their mother-tongue in their verses.

The cover art for the single was revealed earlier in the week, and reposted throughout the week by pH Raw X. The initial cover art featured just him, and the release date for the single. However, on Wednesday, 17 July 2019, through a ten-second-long video, Sho Madjozi’s image appeared, along with the name of song.

The single is available for purchase on Apple Music.
