London-based reggae band The Skints released their fourth studio album Swimming Lessons on Friday, 10 May 2019.
Swimming Lessons is a 14-track project that stays true to the band’s unique reggae-tinted rock sound, seeing them delve deeper into producing more introspective and daring pieces.
Swimming Lessons begins with lead single Learning to Swim, which sets the tone for the album as a whole. The song features distinct reggae and punk influences with its steel drum percussive notes and roaring guitar riffs. Restless, featuring Grammy nominated reggae artist Protoje, follows this. Here, the band addresses their political concerns, talking about the broken promises politicians like to make alongside a sun-soaked, mellow beat.
Other standout tunes on Swimming Lessons include the hardcore punk tune, The Island and the syrupy Love Is the Devil, featuring Jesse Royal.
The album is available for purchase on iTunes.
