M-Net confirms season two of The Bachelor SA

The popular dating reality show, The Bachelor SA, which sees a man searching for his true love, will return for season two in February 2020.

In a statement shared by DStv today, 15 July 2019, M-Net confirmed that the widely popular show will return in 2020, and will showcase another gentleman’s journey to find love. The channel clarified rumours which have stated that one of the women who were featured in season one has been chosen as The Bachelorette, explaining that this is, in fact, not true. “Truth is, M-Net has secured the rights to produce a second season of The Bachelor South Africa and viewers will join the show’s new leading man on his rollercoaster of romance in next year’s month of love, February 2020. Jason Greer will be at his side, reprising the role of the show’s level-headed host.”

The second season will, once again, follow a male’s perspective as he builds connections with a group of women, ultimately choosing one as his partner.

Lani Lombard, M-Net’s Head of Publicity, stated, “Even though our first season did not have the ‘happily-ever-after’ fairy-tale ending everyone wished for, we continue to believe in the power of love. The show did exceptionally well for M-Net. We can’t wait to meet the bevy of beauties, whom our audiences will be rooting for, to receive the final rose”

She went on to state that The Bachelor has yet to choose the man as the production team continues to filter through their options. The channel has appealed to the South African public to submit their application forms in order to be a part of season two.

The Bachelor SA is scheduled to air in February 2020 on M-Net, DStv channel 101.
