M-Net has confirmed that it is set to repeat the seventy-third Primetime Emmy Awards, following the live broadcast which took place in the early hours of the morning.
M-Net took to Twitter on Sunday, 19 September 2021, to confirm the local airing dates for the seventy-third Primetime Emmy Awards. M-Net first affirmed that it would broadcast the ceremony live on Monday, 20 September 2021, at 02:00. Considering the time, it is understandable that M-Net would also include a repeat time to allow people in South Africa to watch the Emmys at a more convenient time.
Hence, besides the live broadcast, M-Net has confirmed that it is set to repeat the live broadcast on Monday, 20 September 2021, on M-Net, DStv channel 101, at 21:30. Locals will also get an opportunity to see cameo features of South Africa’s own Thuso Mbedu. This is as Mbedu was supposedly snubbed, as she did not get an academy nomination for her critically acclaimed role as Cora Randall in Barry Jenkins’ The Underground Railroad.
