Television personalities, Maps Maponyane and Minnie Dlamini Jones, have been announced as participants on the upcoming reality competition show, Celebrity Game Night.
In a preview shared by E! Entertainment Africa on Tuesday, 17 September 2019, the pair is seen alongside a host of other celebrities who will be taking part in the new game show. The clip, which was reposted by Maps, shows the personalities and hosts, Anele Mdoda and Ayanda Thabethe, collectively stating, “Ridiculous, carefree, crazy, competitive, awesome, spontaneous, fun, explosive… it’s Celebrity Game Night!”.
Fans shared their excitement for the upcoming show, with many already siding with their favourite celebrity. Loreen Gugulethu Mandazi said, “Minnie Dlamini is clearly the leader of the pack. Let’s not forget she is into sports, so her competitive side is going to come out.” Others also commented with who they would like to see on the show, with Jeswyn Oliver stating, “Maps is too calm. We need a Bonang and DJ Zinhle showdown! That’s prime-time TV!”.
The game show was originally announced in July 2019 and will see Anele Mdoda playing host to two celebrity teams, championed by comedian, Jason Goliath, and media personality, Ayanda Thabethe. The series will feature celebrities, including Maps Maponyane and Minnie Dlamini Jones, joined by other famous faces who will compete against one another in a series of outrageous games which will test their physicality and intelligence.
Celebrity Game Night premieres on Monday, 28 October 2019, at 20:00 on E! Entertainment Africa, DStv channel 124.
