On Monday, 22 July 2019, Maps Maponyane shared on social media that he is the cover star for the August issue of House & Garden SA home magazine.

The magazine features a private tour of Maps Maponyane’s newly renovated apartment with the House & Garden SA team. A video shared on the Instagram and YouTube pages of the publication details Maps opening the door as he welcomes the team into his house for the apartment tour.

He begins by sharing one of his favourite parts of the house which is the kitchen area. The renovations done in his kitchen were inspired by his love for detail. Using different textures and materials, the newly renovated kitchen in Maps’ home features various styles, ranging from rusty to luxurious gold pieces.

The inspiration for the different styles of Maps’ home was drawn from wanting to have various distinct spaces that are practical. One of the features that creates that definitive space is a high bar table, specially designed for hosting his friends on which they can have drinks whilst he cooks.

Maps later went on to share the details and work done in his bedroom, ranging from different designs inspired by his personality, art pieces and the things he enjoys. According to Maps, it’s important that one places priority on making one’s home design fit the kind of person one is.

During the tour, he also gave a view of his bathroom and pointed to the two basins feature in particular. When designing the house, he bore in mind that he’d one day share it with a partner, thus the whole design of the house is suited for a young couple.

Ending the tour in the video, Maps showed his walk-in closet that has his clothes, shoes, hat collection and various bags.

The August issue of the magazine is out in stores and available for purchase.
