Mihlali Ndamase earned the kudos of her fans and social media followrs for featuring on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, despite a rapper attempting to discredit her work ethic.
A Twitter user with rap aspirations took to the platform on Monday, 31 May 2021, to post a diss track about Mihlali Ndamase. The Twitter user lambasted Ndamase by suggesting that she did not work hard for her accomplishments, but rather, used her beauty and femininity to get ahead. Ndamase did not comment on the matter but was defended by her strong social media followers against the inflammatory tweets.
While Twitter users were defending Ndamase, Forbes Africa released the Forbes 30 Under 30 list which not only featured the 24-year old, but also featured Ndamase front and centre of the magazine cover. In light of the achievement, the Twitter user faced an onslaught of backlash.
Ndamase, on the other hand, made it clear that she was in a celebratory mood and was not looking to be tagged in negative tweets. Moreover, she shared how she felt about her achievement with a teary Instagram live session.
