Mihlali Ndamase has been resolute in labelling Durban as the city with the worst overall service, which led to suggestions of tribalism from Durbanites.
Mihlali Ndamase took to Twitter on Monday, 14 June 2021, to label Durban as the metropolitan city with the worst overall service. Ndamase made it clear that she meant in terms of services, ranging from the Uber drivers to the general service at restaurants. The digital entrepreneur hails from KwaZulu-Natal, however, she is an isiXhosa first language speaker.
In light of the latter, the comments section of her post was filled with commentators suggesting that it was because of Durban supposedly being tribalistic. The comments alluded to Ndamase being Xhosa in a predominantly Zulu city, which is why she was supposedly treated in such a manner.
Moreover, when she was warned to be careful of her inflammatory tweet, which would risk her being completely shunned, Ndamase retorted by making it clear that she is not intimated. In her rebuttal post, she stated, “Don’t care, it won’t change the fact that Durban people know nothing about customer service.”
See the post below.
The service in Durban is appalling, from Uber drivers, waiters, hairstylists, makeup artists.
Everyone in service there just sucks! https://t.co/sJb1HsromF
