Social media influencer, Mihlali Ndamase, gave listeners insight into the inner-workings of her business, in a radio interview with Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh on 702.
In an interview with radio personality, Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh on 702, social media influencer and entrepreneur, Mihlali Ndamase, detailed her journey to success, whilst highlighting her many avenues of income. The interview, which was later shared on YouTube on Tuesday, 27 August 2019, saw the influencer attributing her success to her family, claiming that their support had allowed her to explore many job opportunities before settling on her career in social media.
Mihlali explained that her primary revenue is generated from YouTube and Instagram, claiming that she hardly has any sponsorships related to her Twitter platform. She stated, “Twitter for me is a platform where you are able to create a conversation. I don’t regard it as a business platform for me because I don’t do a lot of sponsored content on Twitter. Instagram is my main business platform because it is visual and YouTube is my all-rounder.”
Mihlali also commented on the positives of partnering with a brand, stating, “The pros of partnering with a brand is being paid to use the stuff that you already enjoy using. That’s if you are authentic and not accepting sponsorships just because they are offering you a pay cheque. The bad side, however, is when brands try to take away your creative freedom.”
The influencer previously appeared on SABC 1’s Instapreneurs in July 2019, where she revealed that her Instagram posts are valued at over R25 000 each, which have allowed her to travel across the globe on entirely sponsored trips.
