Minnie Dlamini Jones likened to Nandi Madida for possibly fabricating a story

Published on

Minnie Dlamini Jones has been likened to her friend, Nandi Madida, as Twitter users have accused her of making up a story relating to newly retired and veteran broadcaster, Noxolo Grootboom.

Minnie Dlamini Jones took to Twitter on Tuesday, 30 March 2021, to pay tribute to retired SABC news anchor, Noxolo Grootboom. In a since-deleted tweet, the media personality claimed that when she was about four years old, her mother witnessed her getting excited to see Noxolo on television, as she would often run around the house screaming her name. Some users expressed that the story seemed completely fabricated and was a ploy to be relevant amid the attention being given to Noxolo.

Fellow media star and friend, Nandi Madida, was previously accused of fabricating a story as well. She claimed that her son’s friends had called her Nala after the broadcast of the critically acclaimed Black Is King music documentary. Nonto Ngwenya tweeted, “She’s Nandi Madida’s friend… What do you expect?” Minnie has since-deleted the tweet and, instead, simply tweeted, “Noxolo Grootboom!!!!!!!!!!! That’s all, that’s the tweet!!!”
