Shudufhadzo Musida has revealed that she is officially an author, as she is preparing for the release of her children’s book, Shudu Finds Her Magic, which is about bullying.
Reigning Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida took to Twitter on Thursday, 22 July 2021, to reveal that she is officially an author. The pageant queen revealed that she has penned her first children’s book, Shudu Finds Her Magic. The post was shared with the cover art of the book, illustrated by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne.
In light of the shared cover art, the book will focus on bullying. Moreover, the visuals of the cover art seem to reference the most recent bullying incident which made headlines in South Africa. That is the story of Lufuni Mavhunga, a teenage girl that took her life after being bullied at school for her appearance, which is believed to be a narrative that Musida can identify with.
Just this week, Musida faced backlash on social media for sharing her graduation, accompanied by a video of her walking across the stage to receive her certificate. Musida was ridiculed as cyberbullies called her insensitive for posting a video of herself walking across the stage when other graduates could not, in light of the pandemic. Therefore, the imminent release of the book will provide light on how Musida filters out the ridicule. No formal release date for the book has been announced yet.
