South African musician Mlindo the Vocalist has announced that he is looking for band members to work alongside him. The ‘AmaBlesser’ hitmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday, 9 October 2018, to announce the news, and encouraged talented young musicians to post a video on social media and tag him.
The musician released his debut album titled Emakhaya in September 2018, and admits that the love and support shown for the album is overwhelming. The 16-track album features a host of artists such as Thabsie, Kwesta, Shwi Nomtekhala, Sjava and DJ Maphorisa, amongst others.
Mlindo has been very vocal about his passion for nurturing talent and grooming upcoming musicians, and says he has aspirations of becoming South Africa’s youngest music mogul. In an article published by local media on Tuesday, 25 September 2018, the musician spoke about his goals, and also touched on why he is so passionate about working with upcoming talent.
“In three years I want to be the youngest Tira,” he said. “I want to own my own record label and entertainment company. I want my name to be respected in that way. I am working hard for that goal and studying the music business as much as I can.”
The KwaZulu-Natal-born musician added that he wants to give struggling artists a platform to showcase their talents.
“I want to put other kids on,” he added. “They need to know that anyone can make it and where they [are from] or their environment doesn’t determine who they are. There are so many talented artists and I want to make their dreams come true and show their talent to the country.”
Mlindo is looking to work with artists between the ages of 20 and 26, and those interested in working alongside him are also encouraged to follow him on social media.
