South African artist Mlindo The Vocalist reached 2.5 million views on YouTube for the music video for his single Macala, which was initially released on Wednesday, 28 November 2018.
Mlindo made his break into the South African music industry in 2018 with the release of his hit single AmaBlesser, which he collaborated on with superstar producer DJ Maphorisa. He went on to feature on South African airwaves, charts and stages and garner a significant fan-base with his distinct afro-soul sound and lyricism.
Macala features the soulful voices of Thabsie and Sfeesoh, as well as a bold verse from rapper Kwesta. The song tackles the conflict of lovers and relatives, whilst still celebrating the experiences of black South Africans. The music video, which has accumulated over 2.5 million views on YouTube since its release, shows each artist perform their individual verses solo, before joining together in a club environment to close off the song.
