Moozlie marks ode to old hip-hop with new album, Spirit Of An OG

Published on

Moozlie has released her sophomore album, Spirit Of An OG, which comes across as an ode to old hip-hop because of its extensive focus on wordplay and punchlines in the verses.

Moozlie took to Instagram on Friday, 18 December 2020, to announce the availability of her sophomore album, Spirit Of An OG. The album comes two years after her first release, Victory, which showcased the rapper still finding her voice within the hip-hop industry.

On Spirit Of An OG, Moozlie’s seriousness and focus appears to be on improving and bettering her craft. The 16-track album offers what sounds like an album that pays homage to old hip-hop, before it veers more into a sound loved by Moozlie, which fuses old kwaito elements and hip-hop.

Some of the tracks that have already been released from the album are; I’m A Star and Dangerous, featuring AKA, Da L.E.S and Pambo. Other notable songs on the album include; Boom Bap Intro, Ang’zanga featuring Maggz, Legit, Fourways Freestyle featuring Reason, Asibasabi featuring 25k, Obvious and You Know How It Is.

The album is available for purchase on Apple Music.
