Mzansi Magic confirms Rockville season five, starring Thulisile Phongolo

Mzansi Magic has excited loyal Rockville fans with the announcement of its imminent return for a fifth season, which comes after a five-year break.

Mzansi Magic issued a statement on Friday, 26 March 2021, confirming the return of the Ferguson Films production, Rockville. The show will be revived with a fresh new storyline that also includes a range of new actors. Thulisile Phongolo will be amongst the big-name leads, and she will be taking on the role of a hostess at a high-class brothel that is disguised as a hotel.

Season five is set to premiere on Sunday, 4 April 2021, at 20:00, and will explore how the now five-star legitimate establishment owner, JB, played by Shona Ferguson, and his wife Lindi, played by Enhle Mlotshwa, have to turn Hotel Paradiso into a successful business again. This comes as the aftermath of death has tarnished relationships and put many livelihoods on the line, with bookings declining significantly.

Nomsa Philiso, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, stated, “Viewers will be thrilled to know that Rockville has been commissioned for yet another season, with a storyline that will explore business opportunities in this crime thriller that is set to light up primetime TV viewing.”
