Nadia Nakai eyes the Album Of The Year award at the South African Hip Hop Awards

Rapper, Nadia Nakai, has taken to Twitter to state that she is eying the 2019 Album Of The Year award at the South African Hip Hop Awards.

Nadia Nakai is currently leading the votes to win the award for 2019’s Best Female Rapper at the upcoming South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA). On Thursday, 7 November 2019, the Imma Boss hit maker took to Twitter to declare that she wants to win the Album Of The Year award as well.

Nadia’s tweet read, “I really want album of the year too!” The category is one of the 13 categories and winners are based on judges’ votes and cannot be influenced by public votes. Taking to the comments section, social media users shared whether they believe that she has the best hip-hop album for 2019.

The first comment on the post agreed that she deserved to win the award, stating, “Your album is the greatest in 2019, it’s hard to skip a song on this album.” Another social media that shared similar sentiments stated, “You deserve it, Nadia N*ked is the only album on that list that I can listen to without skipping a song!! I hope you win it, Nadia.”

Playing into rapper, AKA’s suggestion that female rappers should create a beef to advance their careers, one social media user said, “I don’t know why I thought of AKA’s tweet [as] soon as I saw this tweet.” Continuing with the same narrative, one social media said, “We want a beef [between] you and Gigi, she will murk you *laughing out loud*”

Nadia is the only female nominated in the Album Of The Year category. She is nominated against rappers like Youngsta CPT for his album, 3T, Kid X for Thank Da King, Big Zulu for Ungqongqoshe Wongqongqoshe, and Flame for Candyman.
