Nandi Madida laughs off criticism to being recognised as Nala

Nandi Madida was on the receiving end of Twitter users’ ridicule, this after sharing a since-deleted tweet about how the children at her son’s nursery recognised her as Nala from Beyoncé’s Black Is King.

Nandi Madida took to Twitter and, in a since-deleted tweet, shared that the children at her son’s nursery referred to her as Nala, the character she portrayed in Beyoncé’s Black Is King visual album. On Tuesday, 1 September 2020, some cast doubt over her claims and ridiculed her tweet. Shaka Madida is reportedly five years old, therefore, the comments section of the post was filled with scepticism over Nandi’s claim about children of that age being able to make the association.

The post gained so much traction that, even after she had deleted it, Twitter users referenced quotes from the post. On Wednesday, 2 September 2020, Nandi took to the platform to laugh off the commentary and ridicule. She used the opportunity to punt her upcoming single, Organic, which was co-written by her husband, Zakes Bantwini, and is scheduled for release on Friday, 18 September 2020.
