Nasty C reflects on where his love for music started

Published on

Nasty C joined Scoop Makhathini and Black Coffee for his Zulu Man With Some Power podcast, in collaboration with AMPD Studios, where he spoke about what triggered his love for music.

Nasty C’s latest episode of his Zulu Man With Some Power podcast, which was hosted by Scoop Makhathini, premiered on Wednesday, 10 March 2021, on YouTube. He explained that his interest in music first started when he heard the playlist his bus conductor used to play, which introduced him to the world of hip-hop. Nasty C shared that his older brother previously made house beats in his spare time, and once his interest was sparked in the school bus, he asked his brother to teach him how to do the same.

The hip-hop artist revealed that he first began with gqom beats, which came as a surprise to the host because Nasty C has never released a gqom single. Nasty C also reflected on the obstacles he faced as an inspiring rapper in his area, as none of his peers understood or appreciated English music. He named his older brother as the only person who believed in his dream and helped him pursue music as a career.
