Nasty C continues to fly the South African flag high internationally, and during his interview on Trending Live, he named AKA as a key contributor to his success.
Award-winning South African rapper Nasty C has expressed his gratitude towards fellow Hip-Hop artist AKA for his contribution to his career. In an interview on England’s Trending Live yesterday, 10 October 2018, Nasty C detailed how AKA helped him secure a few performances when he was still an upcoming artist.
The rapper also mentioned that he has always looked up to AKA, who he believes is one of South Africa’s best Hip-Hop artists.
“I used to look up to him as a kid before I even had a buzz” he said. “He was at the top of SA Hip-Hop so he’s obviously one of the guys I looked up to… He also helped me out when I was about 16, like my first couple of performances at the club, he got me into one of them because obviously I wasn’t allowed to get into the club. He got me up there, he got me to open for him… and nobody knew who I was.”
The Trending Live team also took to Twitter to thank Nasty C for introducing them to AKA and his work through the interview. The rapper went on to add that he would love to collaborate with Adele and create a few soulful songs. The Trending Live team then took the opportunity to reach out to Adele on Twitter, in hopes of initiating a collaboration between the two heavyweights.
Nasty C is currently in the United Kingdom for a performance tomorrow night, 11 October 2018, at Electrowerkz. Closer to home though, the rapper is still touring the country on his Ivyson Tour, which will see him performing at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg on Saturday, 20 October 2018.
