Nay Maps lands first Netflix original film with Little Big Mouth

Nay Maps is set to star in his third new acting role this year, as the male lead of the Netflix Africa original film, Little Big Mouth.

Netflix South Africa took to Twitter on Friday, 8 October 2021, to confirm the imminent release of its African original movie, Little Big Mouth. The confirmation post also revealed that Nay Maps is the male lead of the movie. The Uzalo-famed actor has been touted as one of the hardest working actors of the year. This is as he has already been part of three series this year alone; first as Zenzele Maphumulo on etv’s Imbewu: The Seed, Tshireletso on SABC 2’s Muvhango, and most recently, Siphamandla on Mzansi Magic’s Umkhokha.

His upcoming new role marks a first for the actor as he takes on his first Netflix Africa original rom-com film. Amanda du-Pont also stars opposite him in the leading female role. The premise of the movie is detailed as, “Kicked out of his band and home, a playful guitarist takes refuge with a bookkeeper, her son and dad. Is it possible to make sweet music together?”

The announcement of the film also revealed that the trending dreaded look that the actor had in 2020 was for the role, rather than aesthetics. Little Big Mouth is set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, 22 October 2021.
