Netflix announced its next full-African production, Jiva!, which follows an aspiring dancer who tries to break her way out of her mediocre life, fuelled by her passion for dance.
The series follows a young woman whose passion for street-dancing has motivated her to push beyond the comfort of her mediocre Durban lifestyle. The energy-packed drama will see her juggling the demands of an unfulfilling job, family responsibility and her unstable relationship, all made manageable because of her undeniable dancing talent.
In a statement issued by Netflix today, 30 April 2020, the online streaming service will be premiering the next African production in late 2020, following Queen Sono and Blood & Water. The series is created by Busisiwe Ntintili of The Ntintili Factory and was directed by well-known directors Mandla Dube and Mmambatho Montsho. Jiva! Stars Noxolo Dlamini, Candice Modiselle, Sne Mbatha, Stella Dlangalala, Zazi Kunene, Anga Makubalo, Given Stuurman, Ntuthuzelo Grootboom, Zamani Mbatha and Tony Kgoroge.
