Netflix South Africa has revived another local production, Bedford Wives, which is now available for viewing on the popular streaming site for African viewers.
Netflix South Africa added Bedford Wives to its line-up on Wednesday, 7 October 2020, with the first season being able for viewing in its entirety. Production company, Burnt Onion Productions, shared the announcement on Monday, 5 October 2020, stating, “If you missed the first season of Bedford Wives, then Netflix South Africa has got you sorted no matter where in the world you are. From Wednesday, you can binge watch and get into the dramatic lives of these four women.”
Bedford Wives originally premiered on SABC 3 in 2017, and went on to be nominated for multiple awards that year, including a Golden Horn Award. The series is set in the Johannesburg East suburb of Bedfordview, and follows four women who are involved with community criminals, and whose lives are turned upside down following a mysterious murder.
