Nico Panagio joins Anele Mdoda as co-host of Miss SA 2021

The Miss SA organisation has confirmed that veteran presenter and host, Nico Panagio is set to co-host the upcoming Miss South Africa 2021 pageant with Anele Mdoda.

Mzansi Magic took to Twitter on Tuesday, 21 September 2021, to confirm that Anele Mdoda is set to co-host the Miss South Africa 2021 pageant alongside Nico Panagio. Mdoda formally confirmed that she is set to co-host the pageant on Monday, 20 September 2021. In light of Bonang Matheba single-handedly hosting the pageant in 2018 and 2019, and Nomzamo Mbatha taking the reins in 2020, Mdoda’s announcement was taken in the same regard.

However, according to the shared statement by the Miss SA organisation on Monday, 20 September 2021, “Mdoda has been associated with Miss South Africa since 2013 as a judge but this is her first time hosting the pageant. It’s second time around for Panagio who recently completed fronting the latest series of Survivor SA for M-Net.”

Moreover, Panagio also commented on the announcement, stating, “Anele epitomises celebrating life! She exudes passion and joy, and it’s always loads of fun engaging with her. I usually prefer working alone (I’m sure she does too!) unless it’s with someone like her. Co-hosting requires a different approach and can be great fun, if the person you work alongside, loves having a great time on stage. I know that is something we both share so I’m really looking forward to it.”

Miss SA 2021 is set to air on Saturday, 16 October 2021, on M-Net and Mzansi Magic simultaneously, DStv channels 101 and 161, at 17:00.
