The first-ever African collaboration with Swedish retail giant, H&M, will launch on Thursday, 15 August 2019 and industry darling, Nomzamo Mbatha, hosted the exclusive preview event.
Nomzamo Mbatha shared images on her Instagram page of her latest appearance as the host of the Exclusive US Preview event of the first-ever African fashion collaboration with Swedish retail giant, H&M.
Palesa Mokubung is an acclaimed South African fashion designer and is the first African designer to ever create and curate a collection for the retail company H&M. The collection is named Mantsho, a Setswana name meaning “black”, to celebrate the women and culture of South Africa. The collection launches in all H&M South African stores on Thursday, 15 August 2019, and it features bold African prints, edgy designs and creative shapes to celebrate the women and culture of Africa.
Nomzamo Mbatha shared images of herself wearing one of the bold printed maxi dresses styled simply with minimal accessories and her braids tied up in a high bun, allowing the dress to be the focus. The international celebration of the MantshoxH&M collection took place at the Showroom and Global Office in New York City. Nomzamo’s Instagram followers were quick to comment with compliments of the dress and the campaign, with many saying that they cannot wait to see the collection in H&M stores.
The South African edgy and fashionable designer also shared images of the various billboards all over the country, showcasing the collection in its bold, bright and vibrant colours and featuring South African models.
